“Socialise, enjoy food, discover new places, support a cause.”

As there are many amazing charitable causes in Belgium and abroad, rather than reinventing the wheel, EasySundays aims to support existing projects and associations. And how do we do this? We brunch!

The EasySundays concept consists in socialising over a Sunday brunch, tasting home-made food, discovering new places in the city and supporting selected causes. EasySundays also aims at bringing together different communities living in Brussels (and now in Washington, D.C.), creating opportunities for ‘expatriates’ and ‘locals’ to meet.

EasySundays brunches are ambulant; we try to discover new locations in the city and are therefore always in the lookout for new venues. Each time in a different location, EasySundays offers you a chance to:

• Discover places in Brussels or Washington, D.C. that you may not yet know of.
• Provide an event to see familiar faces and make new acquaintances.
• Taste and enjoy a variety of delicious foods from cuisines from around the world.
• Support a local or international charity.

We always offer home-made food, prepared by the core EasySundays group and volunteers, and aim to make our brunches as sustainable as possible. We strive to enforce the slogan “Eat locally and seasonally; act globally.” We also try to produce as little waste as we can and opt for re-usable materials whenever possible.

All our activities are carried out on a voluntary basis by a diverse team of different nationalities – Belgian, Brazilian, Canadian, French, Greek, Polish and Swedish. But it doesn’t stop there; beyond our core group we very much welcome all the help we can get from those who wish to support our efforts in accordance with our principles.

Since April 2009 when the first brunch materialised, we have baked and produced uncountable numbers of muffins, slices of cakes, pieces of pies, litres of coffee and tea, etc. We have experimented with recipes, brought together hundreds of people, and most importantly, supported several hand-picked extraordinary causes, with the conviction that we can make a difference. The initiatives that have touched us the most since we began are those that support children, women and their communities.
