EasySundays goers opened their hearts wide on Valentine’s Day!

January 31st, 2010

picture-7EasySundays turned “ChEasySundays” on the 14th of February for Valentine’s Day.

Thanks to everyone who came out! It was a record in terms of numbers – so much so that we ran out of food, but hey, we take this as a sign of success and will be ready with even more next time!

On the occasion of Valentine’s day,  all funds from this sweet and heartfelt brunch went to Cor Infantis to help children with severe heart problems. Having raised over 700EUR, both EasySundays and Cor Infantis would like to thank you again for your support! It was a great day :-)

The Cor Infantis Charity Foundation was created in 2007 by parents of children with critical heart defects. The charity aims to find solutions and support children who are waiting for surgery. The team’s work is 100% voluntary which means that all funds that they are able to raise go directly to the children. Thanks to donations from “friends”, up until now Cor Infantis has helped over 60 children.

A Cuban and Moroccan holiday treat!

December 3rd, 2009

cubaAs our final EasySundays brunch of 2009, we would like to thank all who attended the brunch on December 13th at Art Base. All proceeds from the brunch went to our very first cause, Livres Papier Crayons (LPC) which provides schools supplies to children in Morroco.

It’s been an exciting year with quite a number of EasySundays events having rolled out between April and November. We ran our final brunch of the year, just in time for for the holiday season. Thanks to all who came out – especially those who’ve been supporting EasySundays since the start!

All proceeds from the final 2009 brunch went to LPC which was the very first non-profit organisation that EasySundays supported earlier this year. The funds that we were able to collect during the first event were of great help to LPC and we were happy to be able to support them a second time.

To learn more about LPC, see the info from our first event.

The venue: Art Base

picture-9 The brunch took place at Art Base which organises concerts, workshops and exhibitions throughout the year. Following the EasySundays brunch, participants were welcome to join a Cuban dance workshop from 15.00-16.45 as well as a concert with Rey Cabrera at 17.00. Many thanks to Frans for all his help and support in giving us such a great venue!

maboromokoni-inauguration-2008v2

After the great success of our wine-tasting event, we were very pleased to see so many people come to our follow-up brunch with Panos4Life at the Kokob restaurant

Having got back to our EasySundays brunches – but at the same time offering you something a little different – the brunch at the Kokob restaurant downtown on November 8th was a great mix of EasySundays treats, tasty Ethiopian dishes and a great ambiance for all!

EasySundays has put all proceeds from the wine tasting and brunch towards covering the salary of one of the school’s three teachers for a year. Many thanks again to all those who attended and were able to make this goal possible!

betterlogoPanos4Life, the non-profit organisation which supports the kindergarten already in many ways, attended the brunch and gave a great overview of all the work that has been done so far at the school in Kenya. A BIG THANK YOU goes to Dioni Vardaka for her very interesting presentation and kind words.

About the school: in recognition of the importance of education as a mean of facing life difficulties, it was decided to fully finance the construction of a nursery school for 150 children in Mamboromokoni, Malindi, in Kenya, in association with the ‘Greek Committee for Education of Kenyan Youth’ active locally. Full construction of the three-class nursery was finalised in January 2009 and the school was inaugurated in April 2009.

wine1A big THANK YOU goes out to all who attended our first wine tasting event at Crush Wine on October 25th.
